Kids at Heart is launching video programs to bridge the gap respite for foster, kinship and adoptive families.
Kids at Heart is excited to unveil a new video respite experience for kids from 4 to 12 years of age. The introduction of online services is new for the organization in light of social distancing in Colorado due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Each one-hour session will include personal wellness, guided discussion, education and structured activities. Focused on age groups, our staff will keep your kids engaged while you have a few minutes of respite or tackle those important tasks at home.
An example of a (4 to 6 years old group) respite session is something like this.
- 10 minutes guided chat
- 5 minute scavenger hunt or stretching/physical activity
- 10 minutes educational video and discussion
- 2 min break (restroom)
- 15 -30 minutes hands-on activity (Build a sail boat, design a bracelet, etc.) – We will mail the supplies to you in advance.
- Wrap-up, questions, comments
The hands-on activity will be mailed to each family which means advance registration is required. Times will vary throughout each week. Register your kids for the appropriate age group 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. A link to register will be ready by July 6.
Cost will be $5 per child per session or a pack of 5 sessions can be purchased for $20.
